Enviroheat monobloc
Simple, tough and plugs into a normal power point
The 250EH1-15 is a no-fuss monobloc — heat pump on top, 246 L enamel-lined tank below, micro-channel condenser wrapped around it instead of a copper coil. It runs on a standard 10 A plug, keeps working down to -7°C, and holds a COP of 3.41 at 15°C air. Supported out of Australia by Southern Cross Water Heating / Consolidated Energy.
Five operating modes
- ECO (off-peak)
- The recommended setting. The unit only runs inside the windows you program — perfect for soaking up cheap off-peak power or spill solar during the day.
- Auto
- Heat pump does the work on its own and only calls on the element when the air's too cold or you've hammered the tank.
- Boost
- Brings the element in with the heat pump for a quick recovery — handy when the in-laws show up and everyone wants a shower.
- Holiday
- Park the system while you're away and tell it what day you're back. It fires up the day before so there's hot water when you walk in.
- Emergency
- If a sensor plays up, holding BOOST for 10 seconds runs the system on the element with full temperature and safety control until a tech gets there — you're never left with cold showers.

Micro-channel condenser
Refrigerant runs through a micro-channel condenser wrapped around the tank instead of a copper coil. Enviroheat rate it at around 7.5 times the corrosion resistance of copper pipe, and the bigger contact area moves heat into the water faster.
Two sacrificial anodes
Twin magnesium anodes in a vitreous enamel lined tank. Get them checked every few years and swapped at the five-year mark and the cylinder will go the distance.
Standard 10 amp plug
Plugs into a normal 10 A GPO — no dedicated circuit or switchboard work in most swaps, which keeps install costs down.
Runs to -7°C
The heat pump keeps working down to -7°C ambient, so it handles a Melbourne winter morning without leaning on the element all season.
Weathershield included
If it's going in an unsheltered spot, the Enviroheat Weathershield ships with the unit — no extra part to chase up.
Up to 71% cheaper to run
Enviroheat's own figure against a conventional electric storage tank. Pair it with an off-peak or solar timer window and the gap gets bigger again.

Melbourne mains water sits well inside these limits. Bore or tank water needs filtering first, otherwise the tank warranty won't hold.
