What Haier is actually about
Haier is the world's largest maker of electric hot water systems — building them since 1986, over 200 million sold, and heat pumps specifically since 2010 with more than 5 million units out the door.
The Australian range is two families. The Monoblock (200 L, 250 L and 330 L) is a one-piece unit that goes in exactly where an old electric tank came out, runs R290 with a GWP of 3, and posts a COP of about 4.5 on the two smaller sizes. The 200 L and 250 L even plug into a 15 A outlet, so most swaps need no switchboard work.
The Split System (HP300S2-F7, 276 L) puts the heat pump outside away from bedroom windows and pushes 4.58 kW of heating — the quickest recovery in the range at 110 L/hr, and it keeps working down to -15°C ambient.
Here in Australia, warranty and service run through Fisher & Paykel: 7 years on the cylinder, 5 years parts and labour on the heat pump and everything else, with spare parts warehoused locally.
